In Support of St. Francis Hospice Raheny – Celebrating 30 Years of Caring
We are delighted to announce that 3 of our members will open their gardens on
Saturday 6th July 2019 between 1pm and 5pm all in support of St. Francis Hospice, Raheny.
All gardens are free to enter for society members and friends, but there will be a voluntary donation box in each garden. All proceeds will go directly to St Francis Hospice, Raheny, who are celebrating their 30th birthday this year.
Directions to the gardens will be emailed directly to members on the week of the event.
A treasured favourite; Conall and Nuala’s beautiful garden Ardán on Windgate Road. Even the constant rain won’t flatten Nuala’s herbaceous borders! And always a treat to see Conall’s unique sculptures among the beautifullly designed and carefully considered planting scheme.
We were lucky enough to visit Erica Brandt’s gorgeous garden, Stonecrop on Strand Road, two years ago, and can’t wait to see it again. Erica’s garden is a series of rooms, and very unique, as it was designed and planted over 80 years ago.
And finally, a new garden for us on Dungriffen Road: Elmbridge the garden of Liam and Miriam Kelly. Set on a third of an acre in five sections. Planting comprises herbaceous, shrubs and vegetables and includes a wide collection of rare and unusual plants.
Terrain is good in all gardens with paths, but there are steps, and care is advised – as are sensible shoes!
Howth and Sutton Horticultural Society is most grateful to our members who kindly open their gardens for our pleasure this month.
Do try to get out and about on Saturday afternoon the 6th of July and delight your senses!
