Hospice Volunteer Gardeners Required

Dear members and friends,

The below message has come from St Francis Hospice, Raheny which the HSHS supports with our plant sales and donations.  Janet and David Jeffrey have managed one of the small gardens there which has given so much joy to staff and visitors, as well as patients over the years.  Now the hospice is hoping for another volunteer or two to take over this small garden.

We sincerely hope there might be a couple of people amongst our members who might respond to the following request from St Francis Hospice and be inspired to become volunteer gardeners . Our time spent working in such a welcoming environment, amongst wonderful people, has proved to be the most rewarding experience imaginable.

Over the years a close affiliation between the hospice and  HSHS has  built up, mainly through our Open Gardens and Plant Sales.  Let’s try and continue this worthwhile connection. Nothing could please us more. We will willingly provide  any further information.

Please contact Barbara at the hospice or Janet and David directly for more information.  We would love to keep the garden and the connection with the HSHS going strong.
