Spring Plant Sale in aid of St. Francis Hospice Raheny
GOOD NEWS. Despite COVID-19 and the Lockdown, the HSHS long tradition of plant sales shall continue with full respect for government guidelines, and in aid of St. Francis Hospice, Raheny.
We need homes for all those plants which should have been on the Spring Show Plant Stall. We do not have the storage capacity to maintain them till times improve. Unfortunately, as Janet and David Jeffrey are cocooned, they cannot invite you to visit their garden. Instead, Conall and Nuala have kindly agreed to distribute the plants grown by Janet and David, along with their own contribution and that of Karl and Marcella, from their driveway at ‘Ardan’. Windgate Road.
There are hundreds of plants available, so plenty to go around. They all are looking magnificent! We will send out a list of plants in the charity sale shortly in a separate email.
When:
Saturday May 2nd All times by prior appointment only
Sunday May 3rd All times by prior appointment only

St. Francis Hospice Gardeners In Need of Large Plastic Pots
Our busy gardeners at St Frances Hospice are looking for some large plastic pots, very large, which would hold a few dozen Spring Bulbs, so if you have one unloved somewhere in a corner, please donate it to this wonderful cause. Email info@hshs.ie to donate

A Note from St. Francis Hospice Raheny
On behalf of the patients, staff and volunteers, I would like to thank the members of the Howth and Sutton Horticultural Society for their very generous donation to our hospice garden. It is much appreciated and will be used wisely. We are putting our thinking hats on about planting something lovely for us all to enjoy for many seasons ahead.
Your thoughtfulness keeps us all going and the beauty of our garden feeds all our souls.

Open Gardens Weekend A Great Success!

Thank you to the garden owners, allotment holders, and Howth Sutton Horticultural Society members who helped make the open garden charity weekend (21st and 22nd June) in aid of St. Francis Hospice, Raheny such a success. A total of 4540euro was raised for St. Francis Hospice and 976euro for Value Added in Africa. The gardens were Conall O’Caoimh’s garden “Ardan”, The Jeffrey’s garden and Howth Allotments.
Here are a few pictures taken in Janet and David Jeffrey’s garden during the Open Garden weekend. The sun shone non stop for the entire time, so conditions were ideal for our many visitors to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
